Photowalk Through HortPark, Singapore

Our backyard here in Singapore's full of parks, one after another; enticing weary city dwellers with their lush, green foliage and fresh, cool breeze.

I usually do my morning jog at the Singapore Science Park (which starts right behind our home) all the way to Kent Ridge; but if I'm feeling particularly artsy (especially for a morning of photography), I go on straight till Hort Park, too.

HortPark is a 25-hectare park here in the Lion City.  Part of the Southern Ridges (which consists of a number of similar lush areas, including Kent Ridge Park), it is considered as the 1st one-stop gardening lifestyle hub in Asia, providing the public with tons of gardening-related products for sale and learning and recreational activities and events to participate in.

Simply put, it is a green, wonderful oasis; filled with flowers and other plant-life.

Just a few of the plant life

HortPark is, in fact, full of themed gardens and walks that give visitors a view of picturesque landscapes.

My favorite part is the Lifestyle Corner, an indoor showcase that shows ideas on how to incorporate greenery into your own homes.

HortPark is truly Asia's one-stop gardening hub.

  1. Ang ganda! Never been here :( I love singapore's botanical gardens and I also tried doing there Forest Walk when I was there for the first time. Great how they've incorporated parks and greenery even in their tiny island. While here in Manila, parks are true luxuries.

  2. Didn't know you guys had parks still in Singapore (given the space limitation and all). Pretty cool :)

    1. The Singapore government actually allots around 50% of their land area to green spaces. So you see, there's really no excuse for us not to allocate more spaces for parks and the like. =)
