One Watery Meal at The Soup Spoon™, Singapore

In most cultures, a good, hearty soup is considered and served as a complete meal all of its own.  And why not?  Given the right ingredients, it does make for one balanced meal already.  It fills you up easily (great for those on a diet, wishing to suppress their appetites).  It's also great for the kids since sneaking in those valuable vitamins from veggies is easier when mixed with soup.

And here in Singapore, the best place to have one hearty, watery meal is at The Soup Spoon™.

The Soup Spoon

A restaurant specializing in -- what else -- soup, The Soup Spoon™ aims "to provide innovative and nutritious soups that make a wholesome meal and a divine culinary experience using only the freshest ingredients." (SOURCE: The Soup Spoon™ website)

Servings range from regular to large sizes, with the option to have it served in a bread bowl.  And for those counting calories, they also made sure to list down the number of calories per serving in each of their scrumptious meals.

And if you think soup is a boring excuse of a meal, well, The Soup Spoon™ will definitely change your mind.

Passionate about all things soup.

Past entries here in my blog have made it clear of my love for cream of mushroom soup.  Well here at The Soup Spoon™, their Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff (S$7.50 / Php247.50 for a regular serving) is just as hearty, if not more tasty, than a regular cream of mushroom bowl.

Velvety Mushroom Stroganoff

A creamy soup made up of shitake and button mushrooms with garlic, onion, cream, and a little bit of red wine, this heart-warming concoction is an oldie but a goody.  And at 252 calories per regular serving, it's filling enough without the heavy calorie overload.

Another favorite is the Simon and Garfunkel Chicken Ragout (S$7.60 / Php250.80* for a regular-sized bowl).

Simon and Garfunkel Chicken Ragout

A culinary tribute to the famous musical duo of Simon and Garfunkel, this rich, hearty ragout is composed of marinated chunks of chicken with 6 different types of mushrooms, seasoned with parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme.  Contains only 320 calories per regular serving.

Aside from soups, The Soup Spoon™ also offers a huge variety of healthy sandwiches (like the Teriyaki Chicken with Avocado pictured below and selling for S$8.80 / Php290.40*), wraps, salads, sides, and even dessert.  You've got the makings of one complete meal here.

And the perfect condiment to all of these delicious beauties?  Why a pinch of sea salt, of course.

Good to the last drop... uhmm... and bite.  J
