The Wonders of Gcash Wallets

I know, I know.  This is most probably one of the most pathetic late posts regarding a very old technological concept ever!  As I've mentioned before, I'm really not a very techie person and as such, am only able to appreciate the ease that these new ideas bring when I am faced with no other option but to finally use them.

I've been a member of since 2005, both in a buyer and seller capacity purchasing and selling anything from books to clothes to women's accesories.  As a seller, I used to offer payment options through cash deposits made to my personal bank account.  As a buyer, I'd personally go to a Globe center and cash in as required by the buyer.  However, since becoming more aware of scammers and the huge number of bogus buyers I've been encountering in the web today, I shifted gears and decided to use Globe's Gcash service instead.  At least I won't be crying buckets in case my account gets hacked (knock on wood...)

Other than than, I never tried directly using the Gcash wallet feature of my mobile phone for anything before.  I'd go to to a Globe business center, wait in line and do the transaction there, whether cash in or out.

Needless to say I was always wary of using my phone for anything else except calls, texts and the occasional game playing (solitaire.  Wohooo!).  However with my lazy state nowadays (who said pregnant women were always given preferential treatment when waiting in line.  Pfft!) and having bought a new baby book from an seller, I decided to use this mobile feature for the first time.

In a word, I can't believe how easy it was to make a transaction!  For those who have not used this feature yet, here's a brief step-by-step guide:

1. Locate your Globe Prepaid services icon on your mobile phone.

2. Go to the Gcash option in the menu.

3. Choose the appropriate transaction (in this case Send Gcash)

4. Depending on the type of transaction, the program will prompt you to enter in the amount to be sent, verify your Gcash MPIN and even let you compose a short message (other transaction types only require you to enter your MPIN like in the case of checking for previous transactions and balance inquiries; or also include an specific amount like when purchasing Globe load.)

5. Type in the mobile number where you'll be sending the specific amount to.

6. Review your transaction and press send.  A text message will be sent to your mobile number to inform you of the transaction.

So convinient and no more waiting in line!  Gcash transactions, depending on the type, are charged either Php1 or 2.50 and requires that you still have at least Php2.50 worth of load credits in your account.

Amazing!  =)

PH | Bang's Tony & Jackey Beauty Salon's Aqua Volume Rebond

I've always had ruly, unmanageable hair for as long as I can remember, hence the introduction of rebonding services here in PH is a blessing.  I've been having my hair rebonded or relaxed once a year since 2002.  It's an expense that I make sure is always included in the yearly luxury budget.

Whereas before I used to have my hair rebonded at a David's Salon (since they always deliver consistently great results), I had to stop and look to other establishments when they eventually jacked up their prices (what used to cost me Php3,000 is now priced at Php5,000 to Php6,000, depending on the branch!).  Too much for my already hurting wallet.  Hence, the need to try other salons.  I've been happy with the results, so far.

The one thing though. that always gets me though is how lifeless and limp my hair tends to look when newly treated.  It's always the case wherever I have my tresses done.  It will look it's best at least a month or 2 after treatment.  It was onl…

Style for Less: Ballerina Flats (Tory Burch vs Kamiseta)

Have you ever noticed how fashionable high-end items just keep on being reinvented by some other brand.  Well after having my eyes checked for fear of seeing doubles (normal daw sabi ni Doc), I decided to scour through the malls in search of fashion doppelgangers.

THE SPLURGE: Tory Burch's Reva ballerina flats (USD195 or around Php9,000)

When well-known American fashion designer Tory Burch released her line of Reva ballerina flats, it was an instant hit.  Known for its incredibly comfortable material and structure with a nicely padded sole and an elasticized heel, these babies made a killing and everyone wanted one.

How to Apply for a Philippine Postal ID Card

I've said it once and I'll say it again, woe to the newly married woman who has, for years, have gotten so used to her surname only to find that a single (wedding) day, will change this familiarity forever.

I have to admit, it was not easy for me to adapt to a new surname, due mainly for professional reasons.  Throughout my profession career, I have been known by my maiden name and to have to inform all my contacts of the change was, well, too tiresome.  And so I decided to go the hypenated route and I eventually ended up with 2 surnames.  Such was the compromise!  =)
